The line between what is exciting and just plain foolhardy is often hard to draw. Sometimes experience has to grab us by the throat to tell us where we are in relation to the two. You and your friend have been grabbed by the throat. It’s been almost 20 years since I last lost control of my car, for a third time if I remember correctly. All stemmed from errors in judgment because poor road conditions. Errors in judgment loomed large in at least three bicycle accidents I’ve been in. One almost killed me and the others could have easily been as serious. The last of those was about 30 years ago. It’s said that those who can’t learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them.
